Strengthening PHD’s positioning in the market, Sony Wong has been
appointed Managing Director for Singapore. He is responsible for
driving PHD’s leadership position and growth in Singapore.
Sony joins PHD from Hawley and Hazel where he was Singapore Country
Manager. He has held a variety of senior positions spanning blue-chip
brands and media agencies in his career of over twenty years. Sony led
Carat Singapore, where he played a key role in expanding its new
business footprint before moving on to Maxus as Managing Director. He
was later promoted to Managing Director of Mindshare Singapore, where
he led his team in winning several major business pitches and industry
awards.
Earlier in his career as a marketer, Sony helped FMCG conglomerates,
such as Asia Pacific Breweries and Unilever, to launch new products,
expand market share and develop innovative communication campaigns.
Commenting on his appointment, Sony says, “Joining PHD is an exciting

of the box in connecting a brand to its audience and I am confident of
continuing and expanding its success story in Singapore.”
Sony commences his new position in July 2011, reporting to Torie
Henderson.
