Expedia®, the world’s leading online travel company, has appointed Publicis as its creative agency for the South East Asia region. The account will be managed out of the agency’s Singapore office and includes all of Expedia’s branding and advertising needs in offline, broadcast and digital channels across the region.
Dan Lynn, head of Expedia Asia, “Our expansion in the South East Asia region is an important step in further developing our global footprint. This is particularly exciting, given the region’s incredible influence in online travel and for Expedia, the opportunity to offer passionate travelers incredible deals locally and afar. We are pleased to partner with Publicis as they share the same understanding, drive and passion for the immense potential in the region. We are confident that our partnership will support our aspiration to offer and promote world-class travel products at unparalleled value. Publicis’ work will center around communicating the ease and modern approach Expedia brings to booking travel. We have ambitious plans for the region and now the perfect platform for delivering innovative, cutting edge creative ideas across different Asian markets.”
Since entering the South East Asian market in late 2010, Expedia has quickly established itself as an essential online travel site for holiday planners. The company recently launched localized sites in Singapore (www.expedia.com.sg), Malaysia (www.expedia.com.my) and Thailand (www.expedia.co.th) in quick succession and has entered a joint venture with the region’s leading low cost airline, AirAsia, to become the exclusive online home of AirAsia flights and unique packages at unbeatable rates on both the AirAsiaGo and Expedia sites.
Sam Cassels, CEO Publicis Singapore, “It is amazing to see how rapidly Expedia has expanded its presence in Asia and we are delighted to have the opportunity to work on the brand. We are confident of creating a compelling brand identity that matches the drive and ambition of Expedia globally.”
