McCann Worldgroup has appointed Executive Creative Directors Ean Hwa Huang and Szu Lee, of McCann Worldgroup Malaysia, as co-chairs of the newly formed McCann WorldGroup South East Asia & Australasia Creative Council.
Hwa and Szu will be tasked with forming a collective of respected and highly rewarded creative leaders from across Worldgroup’s SEA & Australasia region, helping to embed a group-wide focus on creativity with a particular focus on training & talent identification, both key challenges for the industry.
Charles Cadell, Managing Director of McCann Worldgroup South East Asia and Australasia,“The formation of this new council illustrates the importance we place on the constant drive for creativity as well as the commitment we are prepared to make to resource this effectively.
Szu and Hwa are award winning creatives who, by working with colleagues across the Worldgroup companies, McCann Erickson, MRM and Momentum, will increase the volume of collaboration and award winning work we produce for our clients.”
This new regional creative council will meet several times a year to share best practices as well as agree on a creative agenda for the region and comes on the back of the creation of a global creative council established earlier this year.
Speaking about the council, Szu says “Forming a council a smart way to draw on the strength of the Worldgroup network, making sure that we originate and share the very best ideas. This new creative council will present an opportunity for us to work together on real life integrated briefs and pitches across geographies and disciplines, reflecting the very real benefit of the McCann Worldgroup’s collaborative approach.
The advertising industry is changing in no small part due to digital velocity we see in many parts of the world. If any agency is to prosper in this environment they need to adapt and for us this means utilizing the very best of what the Worldgroup companies can offer – ideas, activation, digital and collaboration.”
The first gathering of the council takes place this August in Kuala Lumpur.
