BBC Worldwide and BBC Global News announced a partnership with Flipboard outside of the UK, making the BBC one of the first international news broadcasters to offer a magazine-like experience of its Twitter feed on Flipboard, the social media magazine for iPad.
The free Flipboard app pulls links from the @BBCWorld
Twitter feed and lays them out like magazine articles, allowing users to access the BBC’s international news services in an easily navigable and attractive format for iPad.
The BBC international news section has a specially designated paginated print-like layout, which is automatically populated from the web content that is tweeted from @BBCWorld
‘s Twitter account.
Chris Davies, Commercial Director, BBC.com
says: “BBC Worldwide is always looking for innovative new ways to offer consumers access to our world-class impartial news service and Flipboard provides an exciting new channel that presents our news content in an attractive and user-friendly format.”
