UBM Asia (www.ubmasia.com) the region’s leading trade fair organiser, exchanged business suits and blackberries for work gear and shovels on November 24 – 25, 2011 in Chiang Mai, Thailand for an initiative to give back and help the local community. Under a home building programme named “United we Build and Make a difference”, 43 senior managers from across UBM Asia’s offices convened to help build two homes for two families in need within the Sanpatong district of Chiang Mai, Thailand under the Habitat for Humanity Thailand chapter.
For two carefully selected families, the UBM Asia “United we Build and Make a difference” teams worked side by side to create safe and sustainable homes. Job details included mixing and laying down concrete flooring, building concrete walls and digging holes for septic tanks. The completion of the project ended with a ribbon cutting ceremony celebration with the two families and members of UBM Asia exchanging gratitude and smiles.
