Fitness First announced a new sponsorship agreement with Netball Singapore yesterday. Starting January 2012, netballers from the National Open and 21 & under teams will be able to gain unlimited access to all 11 Fitness First clubs in Singapore and over 400 worldwide for one and a half years. This includes full access to the facilities as well as the classes held in the clubs.
“Supporting the Singapore national netball team, as well as one of Singapore’s best-loved sports, is in line with Fitness First’s objective to promote a fitter lifestyle. We hope that through this partnership with Netball Singapore, we can help the players improve on their performance by maintaining their optimal fitness level more conveniently and continue to do Singapore proud,” said Mr Anthony Tottman, Fitness First Singapore’s Managing Director.
Director of Netball Singapore, Mr Cyrus Medora said, “Netball Singapore is delighted to be supported by Fitness First in the training and ongoing development of our national players. The girls work very hard balancing their studies or careers with their intensive and demanding training regime, so having the facilities of Fitness First clubs across Singapore at their disposal will certainly make life a little easier for them all.”
The national team has just completed a successful FairPrice Foundation Nations Cup campaign where they finished second in the six nation competition, losing in the final to the world number seven team, Fiji. Currently ranked 21st in the World, Singapore is now focusing their preparations on next year’s Asian Championships which will take place in Sri Lanka in August 2012.
Fitness First has been active in corporate social responsibility initiatives. Apart from being the official gym sponsor for Netball Singapore, Fitness First Singapore also supports the Singapore Rugby Team, the Singapore Dance Theatre and Mok Ying Ren, the recent winner of the Local Men’s title at the Singapore Marathon 2011.
