New Innovation Awards Category Launched in 2012
A new category of awards – the Innovation Awards – will be in the limelight at the annual Hall of Fame (HOF) Awards, in recognition of this pivotal characteristic in the advertising industry.
The category comprises three awards :
• Product Innovation: a new manufacturing process, design, packaging, distribution channel or technology that creates a revolutionary product or service
• Marketing Innovation: a radical marketing strategy that creates a paradigm shift in its category
• Business Innovation: a new company, brand or business idea that is uniquely different from its competitive set
“Implementing an innovative idea calls for great courage and confidence as it is something untried and tested,” says Wong Mei Wai, Chairman, Hall of Fame Steering Committee. “We therefore want to recognise the innovators’ creativity and insight.”
This year’s Hall of Fame Awards saw a record number of 124 entries from 29 agencies, double that of 2011. Of particular note is the increase in entries in the Digital Campaigns Award, signalling the burgeoning interest in digital works.
The winners of all four categories of awards – Individual Awards, Company Awards, Campaign Awards and Innovation Awards – will be unveiled at the gala Hall of Fame ceremony on 30 November 2012 at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre. In line with the “Superheroes of Singapore Advertising” theme, participants are encouraged to turn up dressed in superhero outfits. Prizes will be awarded to the agency with the best superhero costumes.
