– A collaboration between SINDA and Dads for Life
Come Sunday 2nd December 2012, SINDA will organise its first-ever Family Bonding Camp for Indian families,
in collaboration with Dads for Life.
As part of the SINDA 2020 Review conducted in 2011, it has been actively reaching out to parents and families to
build family resilience. The Review acknowledged that increasingly, Indian families lack the proper knowledge and skills to ensure family stability and support. It recommended that SINDA increase parental education as well as establish a structured and comprehensive approach to addressing family issues.
As part of such a move, the camp will focus on encouraging families to be more-actively involved in parenting and enhance family rapport by providing them with a platform to spend time together and bond through various communal activities. Many attendees at this camp would have been participants of various parenting and fathering workshops and talks conducted at SINDA. As such, this interactive camp will provide them with an opportunity to practise their acquired skills.
About 100 families consisting of about 400 individuals are expected to attend this inaugural camp.
As part of tapping on the expertise of other related organisations, this camp is organised in collaboration with Dads for Life, an initiative of the National Family Council and supported by the Health Promotion Board.
