Campaigns from India, China, and Singapore dominate shortlist
The shortlist of finalists for the Mobile Marketing Association’s (MMA) Smarties APAC 2013 Awards, was announced across 15 of the 20 awards categories, the only global awards programme dedicated exclusively to mobile marketing that recognizes local, regional and international campaigns that showcases the ‘best of the best’ in the industry.

The shortlist is made up of 73 campaigns from 12 markets across Asia-Pacific. Over 60 % comprises entries from India, China, and Singapore. This year saw entries from a wide range of industries, including FMCG, mobile and telecommunications, quick-service restaurants, automotive, travel, banking and sports.
FMCG companies lead the pack, accounting for over 40% of the shortlisted entries. The range of industries which the campaign entries came from only underscores the growing prominence of mobile as a marketing medium. Cross Media Integration, Mobile Apps, Product / Services Launch, Promotion, Video / Rich Media, and In-App Advertising proved to be the most popular categories overall.
The MMA is committed to establishing mobile as an indispensable part of the marketing mix and making it a key priority of marketers globally. With the Smarties APAC 2013, it hopes to spur innovation and creativity in mobile marketing and set higher benchmarks for the industry. The jury of senior brand marketers and advertising executives selected their favourite campaigns through an online rating process. The Grand Jury has gathered here in Singapore to discuss, debate, and vote for the final winners under the guidance of Jury Chair Rahul Welde, Vice-President (Media), Unilever.

countless applications of mobile in marketing,” said Rohit Dadwal, Managing Director,
Mobile Marketing Association – Asia Pacific.
Winners of the much-anticipated Smarties APAC 2013 will be announced at the
close of the MMA Forum today, at The Pan Pacific Hotel, Singapore, from
7.30pm onwards.
