The Confederation of Asian Advertising Agency Associations (CAAAA) has announced Connie Chan, Managing Director of MEC Global Solutions (APAC) as the Chairman for the inaugural APAC Effie Awards 2014.
With 19 years’ local and international experience, Connie has a unique career profile in Singapore. She was a founder member of MEC Global Solutions, Asia’s first and still the largest and most successful specialist company providing international planning and multi-market management services for regional clients. Global Solutions clients include Citibank, Chevron, Mercedes-Benz, DHL, Singapore Airlines, Singapore Tourism Board, Sony Electronics, and the Economic Development Board of Singapore.
“It’s a great honour to be named Chairperson of the inaugural APAC Effie Awards.The Effie Awards are a global standard bearer in marketing effectiveness excellence and I’m thrilled that we finally have our own regional event. Look out for more information in the coming weeks and months,” said Connie, also the President of the Singapore 4As (Association of Accredited Advertising Agents), the first woman president in the association’s 64 year history.
Organised by the CAAAA and Tenasia Group, the Effie Awards is recognized throughout the industry as the global standard of marketing effectiveness excellence. “Connie’s pioneering spirit and extensive experience operating in local and international markets makes her the ideal person to head up the inaugural awards,” Anthony Kang, Chairman of CAAAA and Chairman of the APAC Effie Committee.
APAC Effie Awards 2014 will be open for entry submission from October to December 2013.
Exact dates and categories will be announced soon. The awards gala will take place in Singapore in April 2014.
