MediaCorp OOH launched the first Augmented Reality (AR) with PepisCo on two of its big OOH screens @ Junction 8 and The Star Vista. Its partnership with Pepsi is a brilliant idea to engage and instantly reward Pepsi drinkers with fantastic content and sampling of products. The creative concept allowed soccer fans to interact with their favorite Manchester United players such as Kagawa, Robin Van Persie, DeGea and Ryan Giggs. Fans were blown away when they experienced this exclusive one to one interaction with the players, accompanied by sound effects (cheering) to draw attention from the crowd to the screen. Fans will had perfect photo moments with their favorite players.
MediaCorp OOH has been exploring the application of AR in its various platforms.The concept is derived from the fun element, capturing the attention of people on the move. MediaCorp OOH has worked with Pepsico using AR elements to emulate a Manchester United soccer gaming with Pepsi.
This is the first time MediaCorp OOH harnessed its outdoor advertising strength to execute AR technology onto big screens with world renowned company, PepsiCo and the well-known football club; Manchester United. With the capability to integrate different technologies and media, MediaCorp OOH hopes to bring a whole new marketing experience to people out of home.
