Casio Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is the company’s third office in the region, following the opening of its Singapore subsidiary in 2000 and its Jakarta representative office in 2011. In line with Casio’s growth plans, this strategic move will enable Casio to establish new retail channels, work with local retailers and distribution partners to expand its regional presence and cater to growing demand in Malaysia and the region.
Casio Malaysia Sdn Bhd will be headed up by Mr Sezai Hiroyuki, Managing Director of Casio Malaysia, Sdn. Bhd. With extensive experience in marketing timepieces for Casio in diverse international markets, including Moscow, Eastern Europe, Middle East and most recently, Singapore, he will bring his deep knowledge of the Casio brand and understanding of consumer preferences to expand the brand’s presence in Malaysia.
Commenting on the strategic importance of ASEAN to Casio’s growth plans, Mr Sezai Hiroyuki said, “With its market size, growing economy, as well as rising affluence and consumer spending, Malaysia holds great potential for Casio as we strengthen our operations and expand in the region. Casio Singapore will oversee the Jakarta representative office and Casio Malaysia to promote effective sales activities in the three countries while improving site operation efficiency. Furthermore, the responsibilities of Casio Singapore will expand to include the entire ASEAN region. Casio is aiming for ASEAN sales of 30 billion yen by fiscal 2016.
