Dentsu Media Thailand announced that Nutchanun Chiaphanumas is its first ever Executive Creative Director. Nutchanun (Nut), who has already started in his new role, leads the creative efforts for the 11 year old Bangkok based media agency.
Dentsu Media Thailand CEO Mitsuyuki Nakamura, who was recently appointed President for Dentsu Media Southeast Asia, was quoted saying: “With the rapid growth of our content business unit we have been expanding our creative capabilities. We established our Content Ideation and Acquisition (CIA) division to expand communication opportunities for our clients. Bringing on Nut to lead our creative efforts, not just for our content divisions but for all the Dentsu Media Thailand brands, is one more step on this journey. Our clients are looking beyond traditional media solutions, and we are more than happy to innovate and grow with them by amping up our strengths in that area. Nut, with his experience, talent and standing in the industry, is the perfect addition to our team.”
Nut, a Thai native, most recently worked as Group Creative Director for Ogilvy & Mather Beijing. Prior to that, he had stints at Leo Burnett Hong Kong, BBDO Bangkok and McCann Erickson Thailand. His work has been lauded many times throughout his career. His silverware collection includes, but is not limited to, two gold Lions, 13 gold and one Best of Show awards at AdFest and a gold award at Spikes.
“I realize that transferring to a media agency might be considered an unusual move by some”, Nut added. “But after hearing Nakamura lay out his vision and plans for this agency, I soon realized that his ambitions and mine are very much aligned. Nakamura is thinking outside the box and is not constrained by traditional borders between creative and media. He wants to solve his clients’ problems – whichever way possible – and bringing on a creative was a logical next step for his agency. I’m very excited to be a part of that journey and I’m looking forward to breaking down more walls.”
