NTUC Income CEO Tan Suee Chieh Wins Lifetime Achievement Award CEO Tan Suee Chieh was conferred the coveted “Lifetime Achievement Award 2012 for effectively using rebranding to transform NTUC Income into a household name. This is the highest honour for any individual given at the annual Hall of Fame (HOF) Awards which recognises Suee Chieh’s revolutionary approach to championing NTUC Income’s brand of honest insurance. During his five years as CEO, Suee Chieh’s vision propelled NTUC Income to attain leading positions in life, health and motor insurance. Its premium revenue more than doubled from five years ago and it currently has more than two million customers with some 3.8 million policies. NTUC Income has also demonstrated time and again that it puts customers first. Recently it simplified its contracts and documents into plain English which helped enable customers make informed decisions.
Inaugural Innovation Awards Take Centrestage The new Innovation Awards category introduced at the HOF Awards 2012 recognised six companies for their radical ideas that combine deep consumer insight with sharp execution. Product Innovation Award winners StarHub and OCBC impressed by creating a fundamental paradigm shift to deliver significant competitive advantage.
Marketing Innovation Award winners Kirin Beer, Chupa Chups and Courts breathed new life into existing products while Business Innovation Award winner Chuck Studios changed the way creative agencies are positioned. StarHub was voted ‘Brand of the Year’. It also picked up the “Product Innovation of the Year” Award, one of three special innovation awards in the newly created Innovation Awards Category. Advertising giant BBH was the biggest winner, claiming glory in five categories. DDB Group was next in line with the honour of having won ‘Advertising Agency of the Year’ for three consecutive years. MindShare Singapore took home the closely fought ‘Media Agency of the Year award’.
