NTUC Club has opened a new digital chapter with the mobile integration
of its directory into the ShowNearby platform.
The social enterprise, which owns Downtown East, water theme park Wild
Wild Wet, Costa Sands Resort and various leisure and recreation venues,
is the first to sign up with ShowNearby’s premium service – Sponsored
Search. This service was launched in early April 2011 and includes a
suite of marketing solutions such as premium category listings, premium
listings, promotions and location-based advertisements.
The presence of NTUC Club and its subsidiaries on ShowNearby, allows
directory listings, place details and promotions to be conveniently
accessed by thousands of Singaporeans daily.“More consumers than ever
before are buying smartphones, so popular location-based mobile
applications are good ways to inform the public of the wide variety of
events and activities at NTUC Club. We can also run deals, discounts
and other promotions that are time-based. Social media plays a huge
role in our communications with our customers, and working with
ShowNearby will help deepen our engagement,” said Ms Yeoh Phee Suan,
Director of Marketing and Communications, NTUC Club.
The partnership marks yet another milestone for the two and a half year
old start up.
“We are pleased to have NTUC Club on board and leveraging on the
ShowNearby platform. It is also an indication that more businesses are
aware and open to the idea of building their mobile presence to reach
out to consumers. They see potential and value in ShowNearby. We are
proud to stand with NTUC Club at the forefront of mobile and
technological development,” Douglas Gan, ShowNearby founder and CEO.
ShowNearby is a location-based service provider. Its application is
available on iPhone, BlackBerry and Android, and available on over
