First NFC-enabled network and dedicated space for mobile interaction
SMRT commuters can have more interactive fun and information on their mobile phones as SMRT Media launches Singapore’s first Mobile Interactivity Space in a public transport network. It is the first to be Near Field Communication (NFC)-enabled, and features a designated space for mobile interaction using NFC tags or QR code. These digital spaces are called iMobSMRT, purely for commuters to engage with different services and brands for additional value and convenience. iMobSMRT sits in strategic locations, facilitating a truly digital lifestyle. Commuters can easily spot iMobSMRT by their bright and vibrant designs and colours. Within that space, it will feature various brands and services with both NFC and QR code functionalities, so that commuters can interact with several brands and services, and extend these experiences onto their mobiles. They will be able to open pre-defined webpages, download applications, collect coupons, initiate taxi bookings, receive locality information, and much more.
The iMobSMRT network is the integration of Out of Home and Mobile where Outdoor enables visibility and interaction with Digital. It maximizes the convenience of technology with a powerful public transport network. “We are excited to launch this new dedicated digital space which marries Outdoor and Mobile in our islandwide network. This is part of our blueprint to increase greater interactivity and effectiveness of our platforms. iMobSMRT allows engaging interactions between consumers and brands with both deriving value from each other. Advertisers and consumers can now enjoy a dedicated mobile interactivity space showcasing the latest lifestyle news, conveniences and merchant offers,” Jeslyn Tan, General Manager, SMRT Media.
The iMobSMRT has been launched in key high-traffic stations – Orchard, City Hall, Tampines, Jurong East, Woodlands and, very soon, Holland Village. It will subsequently be made available throughout the rest of our network.
